Cougars Care is a partnership that mobilizes West Side Alumni, WSLA staff and students to volunteer time building a stronger community. Volunteers participate in projects that improve the physical condition of the WSLA facility, our city and the general health of our neighbors.
Cougars there are several of our friends, family and classmates who live in the various areas that have been devastated and/or hit by personal tragedy. It seems the news is reporting tragic things daily. Some need food, emergency shelter, clothing etc. The needs far outweigh our imaginations.
Can we lend them a hand? Can you help our friends and family? Will you consider donating $1.00 today?
There are more than 15,000 alumni of West Side High School/West Side Leadership Academy.
We have the potential of providing up to $15,000 if we can consider giving just $1 each. Let’s help take care of our own. Please consider donating.

GWSHSAA TOILETRY DRIVE
Alumni, you know those items you leave in your hotel rooms? What do you do with them? Did you know there are various programs who provide rental assistance or food assistance for people–but for some people the little things we take for granted, such as soap and shampoo, may also be a challenge. You can help! We can use donations of any type of individually wrapped or travel-size toiletries (deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, bath gel, soap, lotions or shampoos).
Please collect them and drop off at WSLA. The drop box is located in the Alumni/Parent Resource Room#120 (the freshman hall near front of school). Look for the sign that reads GWSHSAA Toiletry Drive. We will distribute toiletries monthly to students and community organizations that need them. If you would like to become involved by helping sorting and packaging them for distribution, please fill out this
Survey and you WILL be contacted.
Thanks for your assistance.
We need a group of alumni to help us complete and maintain the courtyard. We have installed low maintenance accents into the courtyard to spruce it. We will keep making improvements and cleaning it up.
